‘Mutiny At Muscle Beach’ is the Night Birds’ 3rd full-length and the first one released on Fat Wreck Chords. In my opinion, this is their most aggressive and energetic record so far. Their music is heavily influenced by surf punk and classic 80s punk bands like Adolescents, Circle Jerks, Naked Raygun or The Damned. With ‘Mutiny At Muscle Beach’ the Night Birds remain true to themselves. They haven’t changed a thing, just because they’re on a bigger label now. But being on Fat Wreck Chords might have inspired them to create killer songs like ‘Left In The Middle’ or ‘Blank Eyes’. Who knows …
And they still stick to their policy of not releasing any colored vinyl. Besides the standard black there is also a black heavyweight (180g) version, which comes in a screen-printed jacket. It is hand-numbered and limited to 500 copies. If you’re lucky, you can get one of the few random cover variants that are stamped on the inside or have a drawings by the Night Birds themselves.
