Sunshine, Cable Cars, the Golden Gate, Bay Area and Fat Wreck Chords. Down in the Bayview Area, Fat have setup shop, quite literally. In June 2012 Fat opened a little section of their distribution warehouse and kitted it out like a traditional record shop, the Fat Store. Small, packed with records and merchandise, every wall papered with old punk rock flyers, free beer served from the can and with the occasional live band from the Fat roster playing acoustic sets, what more can you want?

Well, actually this is where it gets interesting. To promote the shop, Fat decided on the ingenious idea of selling store exclusive records, which are special pressings of some but not all of the new releases on Fat. They are only available at the store and only one copy is sold to each customer on each visit. So you gotta be there to get one.

Now what is so special about these exclusive store editions? 3 simple things. They are limited to about 100 each. They have special store labels. They are in a different (usually spectacular) colour than the regular ones. Altogether they make for some of the most sought after new Fat releases you can buy and the store copies by NOFX are amongst the most desired ones…

So ever since that fateful day in June ’12 when the first store edition came out, Fat has been releasing them periodically and I have been collecting them…
